The time has come to let go

ree

Back in April we were talking about my time travelling album project; Friday Girl - Lost & Found, a re-imagining of the album I made at the start of my musical odyssey way back in 1978. With any recording project, the hardest thing is to know when to stop but I'm relieved to say the job is now done. David and I have recorded all the new arrangements with help from James Walker on drums, James Pusey on electric sitar, Yannick Van Riet on vocals plus the cast of the Federal Blues Investigation from our live recording in 1994. The results have been mixed and mastered by the completely fabulous Livingstone Brown and the tracks now dispatched to the CD manufacturers and the streaming platforms. It's also uploaded to my web site (here) so you can read about the tracks if you're so inclined, listen to the new recordings and even hear the old recordings if you go to my SoundCloud channel. Better still you can buy a CD if you're one of those people who still does such things. If not, don't worry they make excellent loft insulation!

I always feel a bit lost when a project gets to this stage. After 9 or 10 months of total immersion there's nothing left to do except talk about it. David and I are planning a few gigs which will be amazing if we can pull it off. We haven't played together as a duo for 30 years so I'm fascinated to see how the rehearsals go. I love to play but in general I hate promoting stuff so I've delegated this task to the magnificent Graham Steel, you may even have heard from him already. I'll be doing some video blogs for each of the tracks which I'll share with you when the time comes, otherwise I'll see you at gigs and no doubt bore you with the whole saga all over again.
