Jim Cozens is a classic singer songwriter and story teller. He studied at the college of Lennon and McCartney and has a first class honours degree in James Taylor. His songs are personal, universal, joyful and moving. In a long and eclectic career he’s written songs for other artists, music for radio, television and movie productions and, once upon a time, survived the Eurovision circus.
After many years behind the scenes he has recently begun to perform his original material in public. In a scene overrun with cover bands this has been an unlikely success. Audiences warmed immediately to his songs and the stories that inhabit them, he is much loved and much in demand. Like a warm breeze blowing in from 1970 with something fresh and interesting to say.
This renaissance has supercharged his songwriting. The new album; About Love, is his best work yet, filled with infectious tunes, and irrepressible optimism. Recorded in collaboration with many of the wonderful writers and musicians that share the vibrant music scene in Surrey and Hampshire it proves that age is no barrier to creativity. The best is yet to come.
